Estero Fire Station No. 45
Project: Estero Fire Station Number 45
Client: Schenkel Shultz
In February, I was hired by the architecture firm, Schenkel Shultz, of Estero, Florida to photograph one of their latest projects: the Estero Fire Station Number 45. Their brief was to maximize utility, minimize costs and embrace its location within the Florida Wildlife Corridor. The exterior design incorporates natural materials like wood and stone to blend into it’s surroundings. The interior spaces allow for the crew to gather comfortably while on duty, educate the local community in classrooms, as well as perform their job functions effectively.
The shoot began with a walk-through of the property with the lead architect from Schunkel Shultz, where she highlighted the most important features of the project and the must have images they would need for their portfolio. The fire crew was also on hand to act as models for the images, bringing life and action to the photographs.
After our initial scouting of the project and our shot list nailed down, we got all of our exterior and interior shots. As dusk approached, I redid some of our favorite exterior angles, shooting through sunset. I also photographed the fire station from the air with my drone as the sun was setting, as the environment of the project was an important feature of the brief.
Below is the final gallery of images for Schenkel Shultz.
